Introducing the Georges:  Dan and Teresa moved from western New York to Richfield in October of ’15. They have jobs in the community, allowing them to experience the pulse of Richfield and the surrounding towns. As a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Dan has been a pastor in the states of Texas, Arizona, and New York since 1990. They have been married for over 25 years.

Dan’s teaching style favors a verse-by-verse “unpacking” of what the Bible teaches. He has a clear understanding of God’s grace and its value in a fallen world that cannot right itself.

What we believe

What we believe

Below is a concise overview of our doctrinal stance here at New Hope.

The Bible

We believe all Scripture is given by God and kept by God so that we may know Him, the author. We believe God's word, the Bible, is the complete, inerrant and final revelation from God to man, given by inspiration and kept by God through preservation.  The scriptures are our final authority in all matters of doctrine and belief. (2Tim 3:16, 1 Peter 1:23-25, Psalm 12:6-7)

The Godhead

We believe in one eternal God, who has always been and always will be self existent. He has no beginning or end. We believe the eternal God manifests himself in three persons, God the Son (Jesus) is fully, completely God. God the Father is fully, completely God. And God the Holy Spirit is fully, completely God. (Isaiah 43:10-11, 45:5, Mat. 28:19, John 10:30, Ps. 102:24-27)

The Gospel

We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. We believe that eternal life is the present possession of every believer.  As a believer our old man was crucified and we now possess the very life and spirit of Christ, which guides us in every area of life. (John 3:16-18, Ephesians 2:8-10, John 1:12)

The Eternal State

We believe that man is an eternal being and that upon leaving this life will afterward exist in a literal heaven or a literal hell.  Man has a free will to choose to accept or reject God's free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.  Salvation is not by achieving, but receiving. ( 2 Thes. 1:7-9, 2 Cor 5:8, Rev 20:11-15 )

Law and Grace

We believe the law is good, pure and holy and was given by God as a schoolmaster (Gal3:24) to bring us to Christ. The law is a mirror to reveal our sin but cannot remove our sin. The law with its 613 commands cannot save or sanctify a person. The Christian has entered into a new covenant and is not under the bondage, curse or conditional blessings of the Old Testament. The Old Testament is now for our "learning" not our "living". (1 Cor 10:11, Gal. 2:16-21, 2Cor. 3:1-18, Acts 13:39, Heb 8:7-13, John 1:17, 1Cor. 6:11)

The Christian Life

We believe the Christian life is not hard but impossible, only Christ can give it and only he can live it. We live the Christian life the same way we received it, by faith.  We believe its the life of Christ in the believer that animates, guides and instructs us to do his will. The Christian life is not a self improvement, behavior modification program or list of rules and standards to make us look a certain way.  Christ is the rule, He is the standard, and when we walk in the spirit we willingly allow the life of Christ to be lived through us. We are conduits of His love, grace and life to reach out to others who do not have this precious gift.  We do not live FOR Jesus, we live FROM Jesus. (Col. 2:6, Col. 3:1-4, Phil 1:21, Gal. 2:20, Gal. 5:13-18)

Are you right with God?

Are you right with God?

Eternal life is not a reward you earned, it a gift that you receive!

The essence of the Gospel message found exclusively in the Bible is that: Christ gave His life for us, so He could give His life to us, that He might live His life through us.  You can know that you are right with God if accept what God says:

You were born a sinner:

A person does not become a sinner through sinning, they are born a sinner:

"Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men for all have sinned."  -Romans 5:12

Sins in your life are a result of a "sinful nature." It is natural for you to sin because you were born this way.  It is this sinful nature that separates you from naturally having eternal life.  God gave us His Law that we might see that we are sinners...This Law is called the 10 Commandments found in Exodus 20:

  1. No other Gods before Me.

  2. Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image...

  3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain...

  4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy...

  5. Honor thy father and mother...

  6. Thou shalt not kill.

  7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

  8. Thou shalt not steal.

  9. Thou shalt not bear false witness. [lie]

  10. Thou shalt not covet.

These are just ten of the 613 aspects of God's Law.  The New Testament tells us that to break one them is to be guilty of all because they come together as God's LAW not His laws.

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilt of all."  -James 2:10

The Law demands absolute perfection 100% of the time if righteousness comes by observing Law.  The penalty for sin, breaking God's Law, is eternal death, or sepreation from God:

"For the wages of sin is death..."  -Romans 6:23a

The fact that we natural sin shows that we are born in spiritual darkness and without eternal life:

"That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens...strangers...having no hope...without God in the world."          -Ephesians 2:12

God loves you even though you are a sinner:

Jesus came into this world and lived the life that you cannot live, a perfect one, yet gave His life in the place of sinners:

"But God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."                                         -Romans 5:8

Jesus graciously gave His life for you to provide you with eternal forgiveness.  You cannot provide this forgiveness for yourself, that is call self righteousness:

"Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone that believes."  -Romans 10:4

Jesus loves you unconditionally. He loves you as you are right now.  He knows who you are and what you have done and what you are doing....and He still loves you.  He gave His life on the cross as a sacrifice for your sins.  This is no strings attached love.

Jesus wants to give you eternal life in place of eternal death:

"...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."  -John 10:10

"...and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand."  -John 10:28

The Bible tells you that you are dead in trespasses and sins, spiritual death right now.  So what does a dead man need more than anything else? LIFE!!!  Jesus died so you can have the forgiveness of your sins, and He rose from the dead in order to provide you with eternal life...His Life!

"For the bread of God is He [Jesus] which comes down from Heaven, and gives life unto the world."                   -John 6:33

Jesus wants you to receive Him, Eternal life, as a gift:

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast."  -Ephesians 2:8-9

If eternal life were gained through religious effort, we would boast and brag about our righteousness.  You see, Eternal life is not a work, a church or a deed....eternal life is a PERSON, Jesus Christ!

Will you receive eternal life, the forgiveness of sin that has been provided for you through faith alone in Jesus alone?

"But as many as received Him [Jesus] , to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name."  -John 1:12

You might have a religion, an opinion or a church...but do you have the eternal life of Jesus?
